Year 4 History Assignment Term Two (two parts - oral presentation and report)
Key Inquiry question: What was life like for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples before the arrival of the Europeans?
TASK: After studying Aboriginal History before colonization, you are to examine an area of Aboriginal culture and share your findings with the class through an oral presentation and submit an information report. You may choose: Religion, Clothing, Shelter, Communication, Implements and Utensils, Food, Women’s work, Ceremonies, Art.
You may present your findings to the class using a Prezi, a power point, a poster or a diorama.
Information report:
· Is too be handed in on the day you present
· Needs to be typed and published
· Make sure it has a title
· Make sure it has an introductory paragraph
· Each paragraph needs a lead in sentence to state the topic and capture interest
· Include classification or categorisation of types and examples of your topic
- each paragraph is about a different aspect of the subject.
- begins with a topic or a preview sentence
- focus is on facts not opinion
· Conclusion - Summarises the information presented (Does not include any new information)
